The Mercury Prize-nominated Scottish jazz artist makes his Belfast debut with a blistering live show, bringing music from his highly anticipated new album SOME SMALL FORTUNE, released this September.

Fresh from winning the AIM Breakthrough Artist Award, corto.alto is the project of Glasgow-based multi-instrumentalist producer, composer and performer Liam Shortall. His acclaimed debut album Bad With Names was nominated for the 2024 Mercury Prize, blending adventurous jazz, electronic music and club culture into a sound that has helped introduce the genre to a new generation of listeners.

Translating as “short.tall” in Spanish, corto.alto is a nod to Shortall’s Irish-Spanish heritage and a playful reference to his own name. A prolific collaborator, he has worked with artists including Soweto Kinch, Nubiyan Twist and anaiis, while performances at Montreux Jazz Festival and Glastonbury have cemented his reputation as one of the most exciting voices in contemporary jazz.

For this tour, Shortall presents a fresh new set, with music from his new album released in September 2026 on the global label Ninja Tunes, delivering a dynamic live experience that moves between jazz, electronic experimentation and club-inspired energy.
