“Nights With You is about my best friend. I've known her since kindergarten and she is like a sister to me. We are very different but also super similar and we've shared our life together on so many levels. The lyrics are about telling your soulmate to let go of all the worries. We live in crazy times, in a crazy world with crazy expectations to what happiness is, and the pressure we put on ourself is enormous. Sometimes all you need is someone who knows you well to just demand of you to stop worrying, turn off your phone, go out, get smashed and forget about life as we know it. If only just for a while.
I wrote the song in LA with Benny Blanco, Ryan Tedder, Cashmere Cat and SOPHIE. It’s the first time i’ve worked with such a large team, and I really admire and respect them all so I was reeeally excited to work with them, and I'm so pleased they wanted to join me in making this song.”
Nights With You sees MØ reuniting with Cashmere Cat and SOPHIE - with whom she collaborated on 9 (After Coachella) last month - as well as Benny Blanco and Ryan Tedder. It is the latest in a run of impressive collaborations: MØ is the co-writer and voice of the worldwide smash Major Lazer tracks Cold Water and Lean On - two of the most-streamed songs ever; and recently teamed up with Charli XCX for the acclaimed Pull Up. She is currently putting the finishing touches to her eagerly anticipated second album, due for release in 2017. It will be the follow up to her debut LP No Mythologies To Follow, released in 2014 to rave reviews. In the three years since, she has played sold out tours and won over festival crowds worldwide.
