We can accept cash or card in all bars/venues. We have ATMs onsite in the Students’ Union. Box offices are cash only. If tickets do not sell out in advance, they will be sold at the door on the night of the show (cash only). Alternatively there are numerous ATMs nearby the venue, the closest is at the Ulster Bank on University Road.

I selected "venue / box office collection" when purchasing my tickets - where do I get them?
We do not have any facility to issue box office collection tickets. On the night of your concert, please bring a copy of your ticket confirmation and our ticket staff will check your details on the door.

How old do I have to be to get into the venues?
Most shows are 18+ but we sometimes we have 14+ events. These events are clearly marked on the website and on tickets and advertising for the show. If you have purchased a ticket for an 18+ show please bring ID to the show with you. (Current Driving Licence, Passport or Queen’s University Student Card) If you have purchased a ticket for an 18+ show and cannot provide ID we will not refund your ticket.

My friend and I just started a band, how can I get us a show booked at one of your venues?
The best way to get a show for new bands is to contact us via the contact form at www.mandelahall.com/contact

Does your venue have seats?
All of our shows are standing shows unless otherwise stated. There is unreserved seating on the balcony of the Mandela Hall. These seats are first come, first served. If you have a medical condition that means seating would make you more comfortable PLEASE contact the venue in advance of the show.

Is your venue wheelchair accessible?
Yes. All our venues are accessible via either elevators or ramps. Depending on the event, access may require an escort from a member of staff - please ask for assistance and our staff will be happy to assist.
All venues have adjacent wheelchair accessible toilet facilities, with RADAR key access. If you want to confirm any arrangements, please get in touch

What are the usual set times?
Set times are not typically available until day of show. You can call the venue directly on a show day to inquire about set times, photo policy and ticket availability (02890 973726). Please note that our professional team of engineers do their best to keep all shows running on time, but every once and awhile a show runs late. Don’t get upset. Remember – it’s a rock ‘n’ roll show. Enjoy your time out of the house.

What kind of drinks do you have?
We have a full bar in each venue, with plenty of water and soft drinks along with a wide selection of both draft and bottle beers, wine and spirits. We like people to have a good time but please do so responsibly.

Do you serve food at any of your venues during shows?
No however there is a shop in the foyer which may still be open when you arrive depending on the day of show and the door time. There is also a coffee shop which again may be open depending on day and time of arrival.

I have a blog. Do I count as Press?
Maybe, but it’s not our call. We do not issue press passes or photo passes. All press inquires should be directed to the band’s publicist, label or management.

Can I get in for free?
Maybe, but what are you going to do for us?

Can you give me the contact of someone at the label?
Unfortunately, we cannot give out that information, but Google and liner notes can probably help. You’ll be surprised what you can find on the internet.

Can I bring my camera?
Photo policy varies for different artists and is usually not determined until day of show. You can bring a non-professional camera to most shows and inquire about the photo policy at the door or call 02890 973726 on the day of show. Please note that some people are real rock stars and can throw serious strops at people taking photos. In the past we’ve had to get people to check camera’s in the cloakroom. Only once mind and no we are not going to name names. But bear this in mind if you show up without a photo pass with a professional camera.

Do you have a cloakroom?
All of our venues have a cloakroom during the cold months. However remember: when in doubt – fashion before comfort.

I think I lost something...
Lost property is looking after by the Students' Union reception. You can contact them at 02890 97 3726 or su.reception@qub.ac.uk. Please do this ASAP, as items will only be kept for a short period before being disposed of.

Can I smoke?
No you cannot smoke in any of the venues. However, there is an outdoor smoking for each event located either at the front or back of the venue.

Where do I park?
There is no designated parking at the venues. There is a lot street parking in the Queen’s area however.

Where is Mandela Hall / The Speakeasy / Bar Sub / Bunatee?
All our venues are located in the Queen's University Belfast Students' Union building. The Mandela Hall, Bar Sub and Bunatee are all on the basement level, The Speakeasy is on the first floor.
